Local and live-aboard diving from Phuket, Thailand offers some of the best diving in the world. Siam Dive n' Sail offers many choices of Phuket diving in different price ranges, length of trips, and levels of comfort. The boats dive in Thailand (Similan, Hin Daeng, Richelieu Rock, Surin) and Burma (the Mergui Archipelago and Burma Banks). Two of the boats also operate in Indonesia during Phuket's off season (June to September).

Liveaboard Diving

Liveaboard dive boats give you a far wider range of destinations than day trips can offer since on this type of vessel, and with a few days of time, we can extend our range to the northwest and south. The diving quality is decidedly world-class, and people travel from all over the world to experience it often booking months or years in advance.

Trip length of liveaboards typically range from three-days up to ten days–sometimes longer–and most boats depart in the afternoon or evening as the distances involved require overnight travel. This puts you in the water the following morning. They generally return in the evening or early in the morning, depending on the boat's preference.

Day Trips

Day trips are available to six different areas surrounding Phuket. The boats depart at approximately 7:30 AM, return at 4:00 PM and usually include hotel transfers, a divemaster or instructor, tanks, weights, and belts, lunch, and two to three dives--depending on the day, the destination, and the boat. There are also limited half-day trips available. See below. Prices range from $50 to $120 US, plus gear rental at about $20 US per day if required. Just a note: rental gear is well maintained and in very good shape here in Phuket, and a great value at about $20 per day depending on what you need.

Two-day trips are also available to the Phi Phi Islands on Fridays and Saturdays. These trips include 7-dives, hotel accommodation, and meals. It's like a mini-liveaboard and is advantages due to the distance to Phi Phi from Phuket (about 28 NM or 50 KM). Click here or use the link above for more information.

One-day trips to the Similan Islands are available everyday, weather permitting. You are transferred by hydrofoil to the Similan Islands for two dives from a diving platform there. The trip is long, over 60 nautical miles from Patong bay. We still recommend liveaboard trips for the best diving but for those of you who don't have the time, this is an alternative.
