Air Travel To Egypt
Egypt has five international airports. Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada and Sharm el Shaykh. While Hurghada and
Sharm el Shaykh are the dive destination airports, you may fly into one of the others first depending on your point
of origin and flight.
Egypt has two national carriers for domestic flights, Egyptair and Air Sinai. Egyptair flies daily from Cairo to
Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, and Hurghada and twice a week to Kharga Oasis. Air Sinai flies from Cairo
to Hurghada, Al Arish, Taba, Sharm el Shaykh, St. Catherine’s Monastery, El Tor, and to Tel Aviv, Israel.

Entry Requirements
Visitors arriving in Egypt are required to be in possession of a valid passport. Entry visas may be obtained from
Egyptian Diplomatic and Consular Missions Abroad or from the Entry Visa Department at the Travel Documents, Immigration
and Nationality Administration (TDINA). Visa applications are normally passed out by airlines prior to landing
at an Egyptian airport.
Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa, which can be applied
for through their nearest Egyptian Consulate or Embassy.: Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chechnya, Croatia,Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Lebanon,
Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, The Philippines,Russia, Serbia,
Slovenia, Sri-Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and all African countries.
Residents of the above countries may apply for a visa through their nearest Egyptian Consulate or Embassy. |
